Tabacchiera Peach
Besides the hegemonic production of Pesca di Leonforte PGI (limited to the months of September and October) in our company, from June to July, more mature peaches tasty and fragrant, traditionally cultivated in Sicily, and which in recent years is gaining much wider markets , namely the Tabacchiera Peach or also called Saturnine Peach (its form reminds the planet from large rings), platicarpa flat or nectarine (Prunus persica var. platycarpa).
Its flat shape, similar to that of a container for the snuff of venerable memory from which it draws its common name, the features in its irregularity, with inside a soft pulp, white, fleshy, sweet and intense.
Once again the hilly terrain leonfortese, and its humus so special for peaches, lends itself to the cultivation of a top product in its organoleptic characteristics.
To fully appreciate the 'flavor and taste the fruit should be eaten within a few days after harvest.
